Dually Noted is a jazz trio based in the Southern Ontario Golden Horseshoe featuring Meagan Luchko on vocals, Thom Mason on guitar, and Jim Slominski on double bass. Primarily a jazz band that is continually adding more and more songs to their jazz repertoire, they also play a rich mixture of pop, folk, and blues. Always looking to expand their horizons, Dually Noted have added classic rock, R&B, and Top 40 elements to their large song list - to offer a full top to bottom one-stop group to play just about any type of event.
They can move easily from ceremony to cocktails to dinner to dance for small, intimate weddings. Being experienced and trained musicians, and very quick studies, Dually Noted can adapt and learn songs for any type of themed event - from 1920's jazz to 50's Rock'n'Roll to Top 40 dance, and just about everything in between, all rolled into a single talented group. They can make your wedding, private party, or corporate event unique and styled to the way you like it.
Front man Jim Slominski, string and electric basses, began to play music at around 20 years old. He studied with Eric Lagace, the great Montreal symphonic and jazz bass player for two years. He then sought and received two years of lessons with him. While a student in Montreal he formed a jazz trio that played on the streets, in the parks, and in the subways of Montreal as buskers for three fun-filled and surrealistic years. In his mid-twenties he moved to the Niagara area to start a family and gave up playing the bass until the Niagara classic rock band Wasted Talent asked him about 10 years ago to play electric bass with them. In 2010 he decided to pick up the string bass again, and began to play and study in earnest.
Jim Slominski is a busy sideman in Niagara, performing a wide variety of music and styles for many dfferent events. He has been the leader and upright bass player for the jazz duo “Dually Noted” for over three years, winner of of the Niagara Music Awards Jazz Group of the Year, as well as performing in jazz vocal trios with some of Southern Ontario's top vocalists. He is also the upright bass player with Dan Willer in the jazz duo, "String Theory", and is the upright and electric bass player in the St. Catharines alternative indie band "Ashram Garage”. Too many to list, he has been a part of many interesting and exciting projects in and around the Niagara region.

Dually Noted did such an amazing job on our wedding day. The music was absolutely perfect including the timing and introduction of both of the processionals. I can't tell you enough how much we appreciate the beautiful music you played on our wedding day. It totally set the mood and everyone commented about how awesome it was. All members of Dually Noted are extremely talented. I would recommend you to anyone that I know having an event in the Niagara region. Also, you were very organized which I greatly appreciate given I am the same way. Thank you for reaching out so early to ensure you had all of the music properly selected, organized and well rehearsed well in advance of our wedding. It's the little details like that which make all of the difference. You are extremely professional and I can't thank you enough for making our wedding day the best day of our lives.- Krista and Sandor
Just wanted to thank you so much for the amazing performance! I don't think anything could have been better. All of our guests kept telling us how impressed they were with you guys. We had some advice cards on the table and it had a spot where it asked guests to draw a picture of their favorite part of the wedding.. quite a few of the cards mentioned the band as their favorite part.. we even got a drawing of you playing the upright bass.
We couldn't be happier we decided to go with you guys for the wedding. Please don't hesitate to have any of your future clients contact me for a review.. I would be happy to share my great experience with them.- Leah and Rob
